Small Tips
- What to do with a staircase?
Staircases are tricky. Most staircases in ZP!S go 180 degrees, this means there are a lot of corners. As a zombie you should make good use of this. Since staircases are always rather small ‘rooms’, survivors tend to freak out and go berserk. If you are able to dodge enough bullets (use crouch, jump, strave) you can strike right when the survivor is out of ammo.
- Dodge ‘n ambush
The worst thing you can do as a zombie is running up to a gunned survivor straight ahead. The chances of you actually killing the survivor are in this situation very small. Therefor: avoid open spaces and try to ambush your victim in dark and small areas. Attacking from behind is always better than straight ahead, doing this gives you in a way a ‘free’ hit, since you will be shot at after your first punch, and not before.
When you do face a human straight ahead, don’t just walk right at him, but strave, jump, crouch and act as crazy as possible to take a less hits as possible.
- Crouch
Also, using ‘crouch’ when you are standing next to a human might give you a chance of hitting him once again, and maybe even killing him. A crouching zombie might appear to be dead to a human when he has just been in a fight with you. But not everything that ‘goes down’ is really dead. Make use of this.
- Infection
The carrier has a default 10% chance of infection a survivor. When a survivor is infected he will eventually become a zombie. This to take effect takes about a minute. It is smart that you don’t tell anyone you actually are infected. Just stay close to someone and try to kill him as soon as you turn into a zombie. When someone on the human team is infected: don’t say anything about it AND don’t attack that person. An infected person can cause a lot of chaos in a group of people. Make good use of this! Gather up with some other zombies, wait for the infected person to change and rush in as soon as he does!
- Killing with a couch? Yes we can!
You will often encounter humans that barricade themselves inside a room, using things like closets and cabinets. However, what most survivors don’t know is that they can actually be harmed by these objects. Especially when the survivors are still working on such a barricade you can easily harm them. Using push (with RMB) or even uberpush (RMB + Shift) will make the objects move and sometimes fall. When they, in this process, hit a survivor they can cause damage and can even (after a while) cause death. Therefor, try to harm them. Also keep in mind that, especially the green cabinets, can be pushed over with much ease. Just push or uberpush it on the highest point possible.
But not only big objects can deal damage. ‘Firing’ a chair at a survivor can also cause damage, just hit the object hard enough by using either push or Überpush. Really, this is more efficient than you might think! You wouldn’t be the first one to kill a survivor with a flying chair!
- Music
The music in Zombie Panic! Source is great: creepy, scary, good for the atmosphere. Though, if you want to become very good at ZP!S we advise you to turn of the music. Music will make it harder for you to hear, and being able to hear is very important.
