How to counter the shotgun
There are three sort of shotguns: the Remmington, the Super Shorty and the Winchester. Humans can carry up to 24 extra munitions with them. Now, on how to counter these weapons very much depends on which shotgun you are facing. But first, some basic knowledge.
Speed
The good survivors know that they can be very fast when they have the shotgun. The best thing a survivor can do when he has a shotgun is to drop all his other stuff. This weapon enables you to be very fast and still deal a lot of damage. This combo makes a survivor very hard to kill. Therefor, don’t run head on towards a survivor with a shotgun. He will just walk backwards shooting at you, while you can’t reach him to deal any damage.
Ambush
Therefor, it is very important that you ambush a survivor with a shotgun. Hide behind a corner and wait for them to walk past you. This will give you the free punch. But be careful. A well placed shot of the shotgun in the head from short range can deal a killing blow. Or in other words, the shotgun is capable of killing you in one shot. That why it might be smart to crouch when you hit a survivor with a shotgun. This way you might appear already dead to the human for a second. This just might get you the final blow.
Count!
Important to know is that the Remmington contains 6 shotgun shells, the Super Shorty 3 and the Winchester 2. Always count how many shots a survivor has fired. As soon as the survivor has to reload come out and attack! Shotguns have very long reload times, so make good use of this. Has a human fired 3 shots with his Super Shorty? Run in and eat him! But be careful, some survivors carry a secondary weapon!
